WVU’s Skid Continues

After what seemed to be a promising start has now turned into a season full of struggle for Bob Huggins’ West Virginia Mountaineers.
Today, the team suffered their third-straight defeat to the hands of the 18th-ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders, 78-65. Though things remained close throughout, Tech just proved to be too much and pulled away in the end.
Now sitting at 13-5, Huggins is searching for answers, and fast.
If things are going to get turned around in Morgantown, the team must find more options on the offensive end. Other than Taz Sherman, no Mountaineer has consistently put up numbers to help the team be successful. While Sean McNeil can be a problem when he gets going, today, the senior only finished with 7 points on 2-for-7 shooting. That’s not going to get it done.
Another glaring issue with this team is their tendency to be undisciplined. The officiating was more than questionable in today’s matchup, but the 30 team fouls that were committed was simply unacceptable. It is hard to win without maintaining the composure to be successful, and the Mountaineers simply didn’t have it today
West Virginia returns to Morgantown on Wednesday to take on the Oklahoma Sooners. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. on ESPN2.
