WVU Women Win All 3 Games In Discover Puerto Rico Shootout – Stay Undefeated

SAN JUAN, P.R.—-The West Virginia Mountaineer Women’s basketball team (6-0) kept their undefeated record intact at the Discover Puerto Rico shootout with three straight victories. The Mountaineers defeated Southern Illinois Saturday for their sixth win. They defeated Charlotte 84-56 and George Washington 54-51 earlier in the Shootout, Thursday and Friday.

In the first six games of the season the Mountaineers are averaging 75 points per game . Opposing teams are averaging 50.5. Field goal percentage is at .449 to the opposition’s .365. Three pointers are 49 to 130 for a .377 percent. Opposition is 16 for 90 at .178 percent. Free throws are 75 -117 for .641 percent. Opposition is 63-82 for .768 percent.

WVU will go after its seventh straight win on Saturday December 2, against St. Bonaventure. Tipoff against the Bonnies is set for 2 p.m. E.T. from the WVU Coliseum.
