WVU women win again!

FORT WORTH, TX—The West Virginia Mountaineer Women’s basketball team kept rolling Saturday whipping TCU 62-55.

The Mountaineers (14-5, 5-3) are just one game out of first place in the Big 12, trailing No. 14 Oklahoma, Texas and No. 18 Iowa  State. WVU has now won five out of their last six games.

The Mountaineers struggled for a good part of the first quarter going on a 4:05 drought. At the end of the first quarter however WVU led by a slim 13-12 margin. JJ Quinerly led all scorers with 23 points shooting 10-18 from the field and 1-3 from three point range. She added four rebounds and three assists as well. Kyra Watson was the only other player to score double digit points with ten. She shot 4-11 from the field and 1-2 at the charity stripe. Watson was also 1-5 from three point range Starters Hemingway and Kylee Blacksten had 8 points each,Danni Nichols had one. The WVU bench of guards Tavy Diggs, Savannah Samuel, Bates and forward Beh combined for 12 points.

The Mountaineers will be at home against the  first place Texas Longhorns Wednesday February 1. Tipoff is 7 p.m. You don’t want to miss this one!
