WVU Pulls In A JUCO Commitment

Butler (KS) Community College safety Charlie Benton has committed to West Virginia. He had received offers from Iowa State, Bowling Green and more.

Earlier this year when speaking with EerSports.com, Benton said, “It’s a Power Five school I dreamed of playing at and I like the defense that they run.”

Benton is 6-foot-4, 215 pounds. He has emerged as a safety prospect and recruited by safeties coach Matt Caponi. He is expected to line up at outside linebacker for the Mountaineers. He will be enrolled in January and has three years to play two season.
