WVU is Ranked in the Newest AP Poll…..Barely

When you look at the body of work from the early part of the 2019-2020 season, along with the RPI, it seems pretty obvious WVU should be ranked.
That said, after the way last season went it’s pretty easy to see why the polls are hesitant to put the Mountaineers among them. After two more wins in the past week, the Mountaineers moved to 9-1 and have made their season debut in the rankings.

Though the Mountaineers are ranked No. 25 in the AP Poll, they are ranked much higher in the first NET rankings that have been released this season. WVU is ranked No. 12 with a No. 9 strength of schedule.

Up next for the Mountaineers is a trip to Youngstown, Ohio. the Mountaineers take on the Youngstown State Penguins on Saturday at 1 p.m. The struggle will be real for all Mountaineer fans who try to find this game on television.

After the Youngstown State game, the Mountaineer schedule really picks up. Up next is a trip to Cleveland to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes on December 29. This is followed by a road game against the Kansas Jayhaks.
