WVU Comes From Behind to Take Down Youngstown State, 75-64

It wasn’t always pretty, but most West Virginia fans wouldn’t know it since they were unable to watch. WVU came from behind to take down Youngstown State by a final score of 75-64.
At halftime the Penguins held a 38-35 lead. After some back and forth, WVU took the lead for good by the score of 50-48 on a Jermaine Haley layup.
The Mountaineers were led by freshman sensation Oscar Tshiebwe, who had 19 points and 6 rebounds. Derek Culver added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Jermaine Haley had 11 points while Miles McBride and Taz Sherman had 10 points each, giving the Mountaineers five players reaching double-figures.

This was Youngstown State’s first home loss of the season, dropping them to 7-6 overall. They were led by Darius Quisenberry who had 22 points.
The win improves the Mountaineers to 10-1 on the season. Up next for the Mountaineers is a trip to Cleveland to take on No. 5 Ohio State. The game is set for a noon tip-off on December 29th.
