West Virginia Women Knock Off TCU ; Back On Track

DALLAS, TX—Jordan Harrison and JJ Quinerly led the No. 24 West Virginia Mountaineers (21-3, 10-3 Big 12) to a solid victory over TCU 77-52, Tuesday night. Harrison scored 19 points shooting 9 of 12 while Quinerly scored 15. Kyrh Watson scored 13 points and reserve, Jayla Hemingway 12 for WVU. Defensively, Watson had five steals, Harrison four and as a team WVU had 16 steals and used its punishing defense to outscore TCU 45-18 in the middle quarters. 

WVU rolled to a 17-5 second quarter that put the Horned Frogs away early. TCU shot 15.4 percent  (2 of 13) and missed all five 3 point shots. The Mountaineers led 15-14 after the first quarter then took off to take a 32-19 halftime lead.

The Mountaineers kept their defensive pressure going and ended up recording its highest quarter with 28 points in the third frame while holding TCU to 13. With the win, WVU moves to 22-5 all time against the Horned Frogs and 9-3 in games played in Fort Worth. West Virginia has now won 8 straight against TCU, dating back to the 2020-21 season.

West Virginia returns home to face No. 23 Oklahoma Saturday for a 1 p.m. matchup at the WVU Coliseum.
