Last week the Mountaineers moved up to a No. 4 seed. After a bad home loss to Oklahoma State, West Virginia drops in the latest version of Bracketology.
ESPN Bracketologist Joe Lunardi has the Mountaineers as a No.5 seed in his latest projections. He has West Virginia in the South bracket squaring off against No. 12 Vermont. If West Virginia advances they would take on the winner of No. 4 Tennessee and No. 13 Louisiana. Virginia is the No. 1 seed in the region.
The current projections by Joey Brackets have seven Big 12 teams in the Big Dance. No. 2 seed Kansas, No. 3 seed Texas Tech, Oklahoma and West Virginia as No. 5 seeds, No. 9 seed Kansas State and No. 10 seed Texas, who is one of the last four teams in. Baylor is currently listed as one of the first four out, but if they keep up their solid play they have a great chance of getting in.

The Mountaineers have a big one Saturday against Kansas. A road win over the Jayhawks would undoubtedly boost the Mountaineers up in the next projection. Another Mountaineer game featuring ESPN GameDay, which is always fun. Though it is definitely more fun when it goes down in Morgantown.
Saturday’s game at Kansas will tip at 6:15 p.m. ET, instead of 6 p.m. ET on ESPN. ESPN’s College GameDay will originate from Lawrence, Kansas at 11 a.m. ET pic.twitter.com/r1irI6w68N
