West Virginia Beats Northern Colorado

The West Virginia Mountaineers beat the Northern Colorado Bears 69-61 in a Campus Game of the Cancun Challenge.  The Mountaineers were led by Senior guard Jermaine Haley, who had 18 points on 7-10 from the field and 12 rebounds.

The Bears went on a 16-2 run and tied the game in the 2nd half at 54-54, but the Mountaineers pulled away at the end.  In addition to Haley’s 17 points, Taz Sherman had 8 points on 3-5 from the field and Derek Culver, playing limited minutes and only in the second half, added 13 points and 4 rebounds.  Freshman Oscar Tshiebwe, coming off a 20 point, 17 rebound performance last game against Pitt, had only 4 points and 7 rebounds.

Northern Colorado was led by Bodie Hume, who had a game-high 18 points.
