Top 10 Mountaineers Who Are Active in the NFL

Najee Goode, Eagles

Geno Smith, QB, Seattle Seahawks

Geno is in his 11th year, played in his 77th game and 63rd career start. Who can forget this unforgettable quote from the 2022 season. “They wrote me off, I ain’t write back though.” After playing backup to Russell Wilson for several years, Geno finally got another chance to be the starting QB in 2022 for the Seattle Seahawks, and he hasn’t let up yet. Geno went for 3,624 yards and 20 touchdowns on the year. Even though the Seahawks went 9-8 on the season, they were eliminated from the playoffs after the Green Bay Packers beat the Bears last Sunday. Mountaineer nation loves Geno.

Rasul Douglas, CB, Buffalo Bills

Rasul is having one heck of a season with the Buffalo Bills. Now in his 7th year, Rasul has played in 99 games. Douglas has 47 solo tackles, 5 interceptions and 14 passes defended on the season. Rasul and the Bills will face the Steelers on Sunday, January 14 in Buffalo at 1 pm (Lets go Steelers).

David Long Jr., LB, Miami Dolphins

David is in his 5th year in the NFL and has played in 66 games. He has 64 solo tackles and one sack and one forced fumble on the year. The Dolphins will take on the Super Bowl defending Chiefs on Saturday, January 13 at 8 pm.

Kyzir White, LB, Arizona Cardinals

Kyzir is now in his 6th season. On the year, White has 53 solo tackles, 2 sacks, and one interception. Unfortunately, Kyzir’s season was cut short nearly two months ago with an injury to his biceps.

Dante Stills, DT, Arizona Cardinals

Dante in his first season with the Cardinals had 18 solo tackles and 3.5 sacks! Dante was a 6th round pick in the 2023 draft. The Cardinals were pretty awful this year but did manage to beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh. Dante is on the Injured Reserve list but I’m sure he will be back and ready for next season.

Tony Fields II, LB, Cleveland Browns
Tony is in his 3rd year and has played 40 career games This past Sunday, against the Bengals, Tony led the team with nine total tackles, recorded one tackle for loss, and appeared in 53 defensive snaps and 26 special teams plays!

Colton McKivitz, OL, San Francisco
Colton is in his 4th year and 45th career game. Colton was a 5th round draft pick in 2020. Colton starts at right tackle and will be active for the playoffs. The 49ers are a one seed in the NFC.

Trevon Wesco, TE, Tennessee Titans
Trevon is in his 5th year and has played in 67 games. This past Sunday, Trevon appeared in 11 offensive snaps while adding five plays on special teams. The Titans did the Steelers a massive favor this weekend by beating the Jacksonville Jaguars. Wesco has one reception this season for 21 yards.

Daryl Worley, CB, Baltimore Ravens

Daryl now in his 8th season, had 8 solo tackles and one pass defended on the season. Daryl was placed on the injured reserve list and likely won’t play in the playoffs.

Honorable Mention:

Bruce Irvin, LB, Detroit Lions

Bruce had an amazing career with the Seahawks. Late in 2023, Bruce was brought out of retirement to play for the Detroit Lions. Bruce recorded one solo tackle and one sack. Unfortunately for Bruce, it was just announced that he was cut from the practice squad. Over the course of his storied career, Bruce had 235 solo tackles, 56.5 sacks and 3 interceptions! We love you Bruce!

*Daryl Worley, Tony Fields II, David Long, Jr., Rasul Douglas and Colton McKivitz will all continue their seasons into the Playoffs.
