Should Nicco Marchiol start at QB against Texas Tech?

MORGANTOWN,WV—Should Nicco start at quarterback vs. Texas Tech Saturday even if Garrett Greene is able to play?

The injury to Greene brought back memories in 2005 of WVU quarterback Adam Bednarik going down with an injury in the game against Louisville and lefty Pat White getting the call to take over. The rest is history.  WVU was down 24-7 when White came in and led the Mountaineers to an exciting 46-44 triple overtime victory. Sadly, we were at that game, and left at the end of the third quarter, missing one of the best comebacks in Mountaineer football history.

White started 40 games during his four year career. He had a starting record of 35-8 and is unmatched by any quarterback in WVU history. He won four straight bowl games.

Now, we’re not saying that Nicco is Pat White. But what if? Will head coach Neal Brown stay with Nicco or put Greene back in as soon as he recovers from his leg injury?  That’s the big question.
