SB Nation Names David Sills Second Team All-American

The quarterback-turned-receiver is getting some recognition for his incredible season. Now SB Nation names David Sills second team All-American.

This is not the first recognition that Sills has received for his incredible season. He also has been named a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award. This also won’t be the last time Sills’ name gets called for an award for his performance in the 2017 season.

The junior’s combination of size and speed made him a monster in the red zone, allowing him to grab 18 touchdowns this season.

Oklahoma State’s James Washington and Steve Ishmael of Syracuse made the first team as receivers. The other second team receiver was A.J. Brown of Ole Miss.

Sills is off to the Pride of Dallas Bowl to take on a Utah defense that ranks 32nd in total defense. Much like the Mountaineers, the Utes suffered several close losses this year. It will be a battle between two teams who were very close to having a much better season.

Will Mountaineers quarterback Will Grier be available? That will play a big role as Sills was much, much more successful with Grier throwing him the ball. If Grier is out the Utes will have a much easier time shutting down the Mountaineer offense.
