Mountaineers Take Tough Home Loss to Oklahoma State 88-85 – Bob Huggins Reacts
The Mountaineers took a tough home loss against the Oklahoma State Cowboys by a final score of 88-85. Yet another collapse down the stretch for WVU. Oklahoma State ended the game on a 7-to-2 run to get the road win. With Kansas losing to Baylor today, it cost West Virginia a chance to move up in the standings.
Bob Huggins didn’t hold back when addressing the media after the game. He made mention of how they shot 36 free throws. “They shot 36 free throws? C’mon.” He also said, “Hard to guard them at the foul line.”
Huggins did give Oklahoma State credit for their shooting. “They made shots,” was how Huggins summarized a lot of their offensive success.
Also Huggins made it clear that the final play of the game was supposed to go to Konate. He also said that with 4 and a half minutes to go Huggins wanted Konate to get the ball every possession, but he did not get it once.
Huggins also addressed another quick turnaround before the TCU game on Monday.
“I hope they are upset enough they come in and pay attention and do what we ask them to do for Monday. I hope it upsets them that much.”
