Mountaineers Drop In AP Top 25 Again

Mountaineers Drop In AP Top 25 Again

Despite a tough blowout win over Kansas State on Saturday, the Mountaineers drop in the AP Top 25 again. Largely due to a convincing loss on the road against Big 12 cellar dweller Iowa State. West Virginia broke the record for largest win over a Big 12 team in conference play. The record was set just two weeks previously when the Mountaineers crushed the Texas Longhorns. West Virginia dropped from No. 15 to No. 19 in the AP Top 25.

There was no time to celebrate the blowout win over Kansas State as West Virginia has a Big 12 contest tonight on ESPN’s Big Monday against No. 17 Oklahoma. The game is set to tip off at 9 p.m. The Sooners and Mountaineers are tied for third place in the Big 12 with matching 6-4 records. Any road win in the conference is big, especially when it’s against one of the teams you are competing with for a Big 12 title.

The Big 12 still holds four teams in the AP Top 25. Texas Tech sits at No.7, Kansas at No. 10 to go along with No. 17 Oklahoma and No. 19 West Virginia.

Can West Virginia stop the Trae Young hype train again? Dear God I sure hope so. Who else is tired of hearing about Trae Young? Hopefully the commentators take a moment from Trae Young worship tonight to at least mention someone on the Mountaineers.
