Mountaineer Women Fall In Waco

WACO, TX.—–The No. 22 West Virginia Women’s basketball team (20-3, 9-3 Big 12) fell for only the third time this season to No. 18 Baylor (18-5, 7-5 Big 12) Saturday afternoon 65-58 inside the Foster Pavillion.

WVU was led by junior guard Kyah Watson who had 15 rebounds and 12 points. Junior guard JJ Quinerly led the Mountaineers in scoring with 13 points. She had to play limited minutes due to early foul trouble. Quinerly did add three assists and three steals. Sophomore Jordan Harrison  also finished with 12 points. She had four steals and four assists. 

The Mountaineers forced 19 Baylor turnovers marking just the second time this season WVU failed to reach 20 in a game. WVU is now 5-23 all-time against the Bears and 2-11 in games played at Waco.

The Mountaineers will try to get right back on the winning streak when they travel to Fort Worth to take on TCU.
