MORGANTOWN, WV—-After a disappointing loss at Oklahoma State Saturday 70-66 and an 0-8 road record, the West Virginia Mountaineers (7-13, 2-5 Big 12) hope that some home cooking will revive the team. The last time WVU played at home they defeated the then no. 3 Kansas Jayhawks 91-85. The question now is: Can WVU pull off home wins versus Cincinnati on Wednesday and No. 22 BYU on Saturday and salvage what is left of the season?
Most of West Virginia’s road woes came in the form of poor defensive play and terrible foul shooting. If WVU would have performed better in those two departments they would have won easily at Oklahoma State and broke the road losing streak this season.
Hopefully Jesse Edwards will start to regain his confidence after being sidelined with an injury for six weeks and the rest of the team will perform like they did in the Kansas contest. This Jekyll and Hyde team is certainly capable now that everyone is back. Let’s see which team shows up starting Wednesday night against Cincinnati.
