Jevon Carter Update

Memphis Grizzlies Sign Jevon Carter to Multi-Year Contract

As you probably know, Jevon Carter was drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies in the most recent NBA Draft. The Grizzlies have a crowded backcourt, so Jevon was sent tot he G League. If you aren’t familiar with that, it was once called the D League for Developmental League. Gatorade then bought the rights. Is anything not for sale? It is like the minor leagues of the NBA. He could be called up anytime.

So far through two games, Carter is doing well. He is averaging 19 points per game, 4.5 assists, 4.5 steals and 3.5 rebounds through two games. A stat sheet stuffer, just like at WVU.

His most recent performance was awesome when he had 29 points, 6 assists, 6 steals and 3 rebounds. Check out the highlights:

With showings like this, it’s a matter of time before JC gets a shot at the NBA again. The Grizzlies are off to a 5-4 start, but if there are any injuries in the backcourt or if someone’s performance drops off, look for Jevon Carter to get a call to join the roster.

Once Jevon gets his chance, there are few better at proving doubters wrong than him. In the meantime he will be working and improving for the Memphis Hustle.
