The Mountaineers are on fire and Jevon Carter plays a huge role in it. Now he’s getting recognized. Jevon Carter named to the Wooden Award watch list.

Carter has had an incredible run as a Mountaineer and the senior is looking to finish things off in a big way. Other Big 12 players on the list include Trae Young of Oklahoma, Mohamed Bama of Texas and Devonte’ Graham of Kansas.

The play of Carter has propelled the Mountaineers to a 15-game winning-streak with their only loss coming in the season opener. The Mountaineers have climbed all the way to the No. 2 ranking.

Carter is averaging career highs in points (16.1), assists (6.8), rebounds (5.5) and steals (3.6). He ranks 2nd in the country in steals.

His game continues to evolve as he continues to improve. The senior is now one of the best players in the country. He has improved every year and his senior year is shaping to be his best year by far.

Will Carter be able to bring home the Wooden Award? It will be very challenging, but with the stiff slate of games left for the Mountaineers, it is very possible.

This isn’t the first time Carter has been recognized for his outstanding play this season. And it won’t be the last.

The next time Jevon Carter is in action is Saturday when the Mountaineers travel to Lubbock for a top ten showdown against the No. 8 Texas Tech Raiders.
