Is “College Gameday” Coming to the “Backyard Brawl?”

MORGANTOWN, WV—The last time College Game Day came to Morgantown for a football game was Sept. 24, 2011 when No. 16 West Virginia hosted No. 2 LSU. The only other date “Game Day” came to Morgantown for football was in 2009 when WVU hosted No. 6 Louisville.

The rumor is College GameDay will be coming to Morgantown for the ” Backyard Brawl” Sept. 16 with former Mountaineer Kicker and now ESPN commentator Pat McAfee as one of the hosts of the show.

McAfee made a bold prediction on ESPN the other day that WVU will surprise Penn State, beat Duquesne and then host Pitt on “Game Day” in Morgantown. McAFee said the fans will be going crazy in Morgantown for the Pitt game. The other show hosts chuckled when McAfee said WVU quarterback Garrett Greene would run wild against Penn State in a victory. Hopefully McAfee Knows something we don’t, because the so-called experts picked WVU to finish last in the Big 12 this year.
