Dillon Spalding Makes His Transfer Decision

West Virginia Mountaineers Dilon Spalding with a touchdown catch during the spring game on Saturday.

Dillon Spalding, the former WVU wide receiver who decided to enter the Transfer Portal on May 17th, has decided to transfer to James Madison University.  Spalding, a 6’2 210 Redshirt Freshman Wide Receiver out of Lorton, Virginia, was clearly searching for more playing time and will likely find it in the Colonial Athletic Association.

Spalding did make a tremendous touchdown reception from Trey Lowe as time expired during the Gold Blue Spring game this year and appeared to have potential to get playing time in a depleted wide receivers corps.  However, he obviously felt that he had a greater opportunity elsewhere.

Good luck at JMU, Dillon!  Interestingly enough, West Virginia plays JMU on the first game of the season so we’ll see Dillon back in Morgantown soon.
