From the time we kicked things off in September, 2021 was assumed to be the last season in Morgantown for defensive lineman Dante Stills. However, it appears as if Stills has changed his tune as he opened up about possibly returning for a fifth season in 2022 on Sunday.

During the interview, which was shared on Twitter by Joe Brocato of WV MetroNews, Stills was asked up front about the prospect of returning. While he stated that he hasn’t made a decision yet, Stills’s response does make it sound like he has been thinking about it quite a bit.
Should he decide to return, Stills claims that it will be a “personal” decision. Though he feels he has “done some damage,” should he feel that he didn’t quite reach his potential, that would factor into his return.
Stills also took time to list off pros of returning, including the opportunity and extra offseason to better his craft and get stronger. For all players with the extra COVID year added to their eligibility, the opportunity to get better should certainly be something that they seriously consider.
We assume, like Doege, that Stills will make his official decision following the Guaranteed Rate Bowl. Once this news comes, we will bring it to you here on Mountaineer Sports.
Stills finished the 2021 season with 32 total tackles including 6 sacks and one forced fumble. He also tallied his first career interception again Oklahoma State.
