2018 College Football National Champion Odds

Just a few nights ago Alabama wrapped up the College Football National Championship after winning a thriller over the SEC champ Georgia Bulldogs. It didn’t take long, but we’ve already turned our sights to the 2018 season. The odds are out for who will win the national championship. Low and behold the 2018 College Football National Champion odds include the Mountaineers.

It’s no surprise the Crimson Tide lead the pack. You just can’t bet against West Virginia-native Nick Saban. When you consider how much recent success the Clemson Tigers have had, how could you not put them second? The next tier includes Georgia and Ohio State. The Buckeyes probably get slotted in next by default. With Nick Fromm coming back, you can count on the Georgia Bulldogs challenging the Crimson Tide for the SEC title.

The Mountaineers come in at 40:1. With Will Grier and David Sills coming back, is it reasonable for the Mountaineers to set their sights on a Big 12 title and a spot in the playoffs? When you look at recent history that could certainly be described as a stretch. When you consider Baker Mayfield of Oklahoma and Mason Rudolph of Oklahoma State are both graduating, that gives the Mountaineers the most established quarterback in the conference.

The way the hoops season is shaping up so far combined with the talent coming back for the football team, this could an incredible year to be a Mountaineer.
